The future for STAR is bright!

STAR procurement has today launched their three year Business Plan.  The Business Plan shows the achievements STAR has made to date and how the organisation will continue it’s success over the coming years.  STAR procurement is the shared procurement service for Stockport Council, Trafford Council and Rochdale Council, and also provides support to other public authorities in Greater Manchester and beyond.

STAR Procurement arranges contracts for any supplies, services or works. The suppliers who deliver these contracts can be from the public, private, voluntary or community sectors.  Through their innovative approaches, STAR Procurement maximises the “procurement worth” from these contracts and ensure that they deliver the best possible outcomes for residents and business communities.  There are some exciting projects on the horizon, such as a “Buy Local” campaign.  The Business Plan clearly shows how STAR Procurement will build on their successes to date to deliver even more in the future.

Lorraine Cox Director of STAR Procurement, “Our new Business Plan has helped us focus on where procurement can make a difference and how it can be used as a catalyst for change.  We are excited about our future direction and the results we achieve through collaboration.  Procurement is so much more than putting contracts in place, as our 5-STAR objectives of commercial, communities, collaboration, compliance and champions demonstrate”.

Cllr Brett Chair of STAR Procurement Joint Committee, “STAR procurement shows that sharing services, expertise and resources delivers results, as the achievements for our award winning service demonstrate.  The challenges ahead are significant but the future with STAR procurement is bright!”
